Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Everyone!

Please allow me the honor of wishing all of you darling members a holly, jolly holiday on behalf of all the Staff! Here's to hoping all of you enjoy your time spent either alone or with family; and here's to hoping Santa brings you plenty of joy, happiness--And presents of course! Personally, it warms my heart to be apart of such a wonderful community of such talented writers and warmhearted readers. Forgive me for being so sappy-happy but I simply want to make sure everyone, and I do mean everyone, has a little holiday cheer this year. For no one should celebrate any holiday without a smile! However, before I send all of you along on your merry way, there are a few things I would like to address!

For starters, I would like to ask everyone to please review the Rules and Terms of Service just as a refresher for the new year! To start us all off on the right foot. Also, there are a few rules that have come to my attention that I would like to remind everyone about right here--

1) Please do not submit multiple chapters of the same story at one time to be validated. I cannot stress this rule enough. We've said it time and time again and yet, without fail, we continue to have this problem. I'd like this to be the last time it has to be repeated.

2) Keep your titles plain, as in, no symbols or anything of the sort in them. They are only titles, not artwork. These are some examples: ".h.e.l.l.o." "|Love|+|Me|" "~Forever~". Basically, no decorative titles please. I've only seen this a handful of times recently but it still needs to be said; it's a rule, after all.

3) Please check your HTML. We want to be sure you aren't going overboard with the tags. By that, we are making sure all of your chapters are not just one big lump of bold, italic, or any of the like. Please also check and make sure your tags are always closed off.

4) Please check your formatting when submitting. Your story should not be one large block of text. Nor should it be entirely align to center or right. On that note as well, it should not come only a third of the way across the page, which is poem format, unless it IS a poem. Spacing is not a difficult thing to watch for.

All of us on the Staff appreciate all of you cooperating and adhering to the rules. We really do have a lovely community here and I for one am very thankful to Idaten for getting the main site and Forum back up and running. I'm thankful to the Admins and Mods who work so hard every day to keep up on validating and keeping the site running. But at the same time, I'm thankful to all of you lovely members for giving all of us a community to return to. We are nothing without our members; so this Christmas and Holiday season, smile and know Muffin-Chan is sending her love and thanks your way! And with that, I will send you one last holiday wish in hopes you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello, members.

I sincerely apologize for the many, many months' delay, but FoS is officially back up and running! :D

There was a major problem with a hacker who'd been sending spam messages from our account, which led to FoS being suspended by our hosting provider. Due to my own personal troubles, the situation wasn't able to be resolved until today, but I guess it's better late than never, right?

I will send out an e-mail that will hopefully reach all of the members in order to spread the word that FoS is back up. Edit: It seems like the e-mail isn't going through, so we're going to have to rely on word of mouth.

Now, there may be some changes coming up in the near future, but we'll approach that when the time comes.

I was in contact with our host's support guys for a while, and hopefully resolved the fatalerror_notconnected problem. If you happen to see it again, please let me know. Oh, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann has been added to the Anime/Manga section. Supernatural has been added to the TV Shows section. Thanks, everyone. ~Idaten

With the return of user profiles, we, as the staff, are allowed to validate authors once more. We're sorry about the delay.

I've compiled a list of known validated authors dating back from the purge. Follow this link to see if you're validated or not. If you do not see your name on the list and would like to be validated, all you have to do is request so here. We will check out three of your stories and if they pass, you'll be added to the list of validated authors. The list will be updated frequently as we are adding more validated authors to it everyday.

If there are any questions, comments or anything else, please ask away. :]

Edit: Axis Powers Hetalia has been added to the Anime/Manga category. Deadpool has also been added to the Comics category. :D ~Idaten

Our hosting provider will be upgrading our server some time this week. This means FOSFF and the forum will be down while this upgrade takes place.

Good news is that it shouldn't be down for long and this upgrade should increase the server performance and stability.

After this change happens, I'm going to look into the issue of not being able to access member profiles. If there are any other issues around the site, please report them in our forum, in the User Q&A section.

As you all have probably noticed, the forum is down. I've looked into the server and database, but I was unable to repair the table that crashed.

I've contacted the hosting provider, so maybe they can give me a solution to the problem. It may take a while, but if by next week the problem isn't fixed, then I'll create a new forum for in the meantime.

Sorry for the inconvenience, everyone. Thanks for having patience.

As you all may have noticed, the member profiles are no longer working. I'm not sure what the problem is because it just randomly happened.

Hopefully soon, though, there will no longer be any issues here at FoS. Over the next month, I'm going to be looking at moving the site to a new, more affordable server.

Right now, I'm experimenting with Fiction Zone; and if that works, I'll move FoS soon too. You guys will have prior notice, so don't worry.

But please, there is no need to harass the admins here and at the forum about the member profiles. We all know there's a problem, but we cannot do anything about it right now. Just be patient, and maybe the issues will be resolved in the next month or so.

Until then, enjoy the rest of FoS. If there's any other issues, you can bring them to our attention. Thank you, everyone.

Hello all! I come to you today bearing a temporary solution to the missing Challenges category. Right now we are working on setting up a separate board of the Forum for just such a purpose but there is a quick fix for those of you just itching to post/respond to Challenges.

You'll find a thread designed to suit your needs here.

We are well aware that this thread can and probably will become rather confusing; this has been addressed and discussed. This is just a temporary solution to the problem. Once we get an actual section set up, I will make sure to relay that link to you.

For the time being, please enjoy! =)
